Tech, gaming and streaming news in my own words, with my take. By Travis, a Texas husband and father who streams PUBG on Kick.

PUBG ends its LMG 'meta rotation' early in Update 44.1
PUBG's August experiment of buffing light machine guns made them too strong, so Update 44.1 rolls the M249 and MG3 back to their old stats and tones the newer RPD down to match. The devs say they'll rethink how rotations work and come back with a new plan in 2027.
Travis's take: Rest in peace, LMG spray-and-pray. My aim was never the problem. It was the gun. It's always been the gun.

Search 'Zelda' on Google and click the sword to time-travel to 1998
To hype the Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2 (out Nov 5), Google added a hidden Master Sword to its results that flips the page into a retro, 1998-style list of plain blue links. Try to search anything else and it boots you right back to 2026.
Travis's take: 1998 Google: ten blue links. 2026 Google: an AI, three ads and a guy selling air fryers. Hand me that sword and leave me there.

A millionaire says GTA 6 will 'save' you $5,000, and gamers love the math
Finance YouTuber Mark Tilbury joked that GTA 6's $99.99 edition works out to about 50 cents an hour, way cheaper than $100 nights out. Gamers turned it into a meme ahead of the Nov 19 launch.
Travis's take: Using this exact math on Chahrazed tonight. If GTA 6 saves five grand, the special edition is basically an investment.

ARC Raiders devs admit the AI-voice backlash was 'fair'
Embark says it leaned on AI copies of its actors' voices because the game changes too fast to re-record every ping line, but agrees players had a point. The studio has since brought in more real recorded lines.
Travis's take: Embark, I'll record every ping line for free. 'Loot over here.' 'Robot over there.' 'Who took my snack?' Hire me.

Kick's Eddie Craven says viewbotters are 'obvious' in the data
Kick's co-founder says the platform can see who's faking viewers, but banning every case would just get bad actors botting everyone else. Instead, Kick targets systematic offenders and pulls their partner payouts.
Travis's take: No bots in this channel. Every viewer is a real person, mostly my cousin Adam refreshing the page.

Ex-Epic engineer: nobody's knocking Steam off the PC throne
Former Epic animation engineer Kiaran Ritchie argued developers pay Steam's 30% cut for its giant, loyal audience, not its tech. The take split PC gamers between Steam fans and folks who call it a near-monopoly.
Travis's take: My Steam library has 400 games and I've played six. That's not loyalty, that's a relationship, and I'm not leaving.

Apple's $1,000 roaming home robot could arrive in 2027
Apple is reportedly building a robot that rolls around the house handling FaceTime calls and flipping lights on when you walk in, possibly priced at $1,000 or more. It could slip to 2028.
Travis's take: A thousand bucks to turn lights on? I've got three kids who leave every light in the house on for free.

Scientists figure out why big dogs age faster than little ones
Researchers studying 864 dogs found giant breeds lose control of 'jumping genes' faster with age, which may explain why they live shorter lives than small breeds.
Travis's take: Big dogs live fast because they've got more love to give per square foot. That's my science and I'm sticking to it.

Someone made Katamari Damacy, but you roll up The Met's art collection
A fan web toy that hit the top of Hacker News lets you roll a sticky ball around and collect pieces from New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. It's free to play in the browser.
Travis's take: Finally, a museum trip where the kids are ALLOWED to touch everything.
